Questions ... ?

Q. I downloaded your audio package to my portable device (iPhone, iPad, Android), and it won’t let me open it. How do I get it onto my phone where I can listen to it as advertised?

A. The files are provided to you as a .zip file. It is easily opened by Mac and PC computers. This file type is not recognized by mobile devices so you cannot download our materials directly to them. You must download the file to your computer, and unzip the file. Once the file is unzipped, all you have to do is double click on the Mp3 tracks and your iTunes, or other audio software, will import and play them. You handle them just like any other audio file on your computer. We are waiting for a way to allow direct downloads to portable devices, but at this time you must import to your computer and synch your device to bring in the files.

Q. Will I need a copy the the printed book if I buy your Audiobook?

A. Yes, the FAA handbooks have many detailed figures, diagrams, charts, and illustrations that help clarify the information being presented.

Q. How will I receive my audiobook?

A. All our audio files are in the Mp3 format, as this is the most common format for media players. The files are bundled together in a .zip file. Both Windows and Mac operating systems unzip this format easily, leaving you with a folder containing your Mp3 audiobook files.

Q. Can I follow along in the PDF while I’m listening to the audiobook on my iPhone, iPad or other device?

A. Yes, this is a good way to take in this information. When a person receives information through both audio and visual cues, it often helps with retention. On iOS devices, you can open the PDF version of the book in your PDF reader (iBooks, Goodreader, or similar program) and bring up the section you’re listening to. Then press play on the audio player. A similar operation should work on other devices that have the ability to use the screen and listen to an audio file in the background.
